This image conveys that I love the outdoors and am an outdoor person. The picture shows some roses, rocks, and a piece of wood to symbolize my love for nature and the beautiful things that we can see just by walking outside. Besides nature, the picture shows that I enjoy doing activities outside in the sunshine, like playing tennis with the warmth of the sun. The umbrella emphasizes this fact, along with letting my audience know the best days are those with sun, where you are protected with the refreshing shadow of a nice, large umbrella. As always, it's all smiles on sunny days with nature sightings, activities, and cool, crisp evenings under an umbrella.
I am really impressed looking at my Double Exposure compared to the Selfie. In the selfie, I had a bunch of random objects, that followed a vague outdoor theme. These objects were also weirdly put in different places in the photo. I had an umbrella and piece of wood on my head, with some roses placed off to the side. This design didn't make the most sense, and it overall wasn't a very complex picture. However, my Double Exposure is so much more powerful and moving. Every part of the photo makes sense, and comes together to create unity. In my photo, I took a selfie where my head was rotated more, yet I was still able to have my eyes captured in the photo. In addition, my selfie wasn't in the center of this photo, and by following the rule of thirds, I created a very dramatic look. I took a photo of some forestry, with the bright blue sky above it, and thought it would be perfect to use for this double exposure. The landscape is easily identified in this photo, and the sky created a really cool effect. My face was blank from the sky, yet is was also blue. This photo has a bunch of components that contribute to the overall message that it's trying to convey, unlike my first selfie. Firstly, I used the quote, "The sun does not shine for a few trees or flowers, but for the wide world's joy." This quote is really amazing, because it talks about how sunshine is not only a necessity for nature, but that it creates happiness for humans. I used this message, and created the different parts of my photo. I took my landscape photo on a sunny, bright day to capture nature in the best light. I was also smiling in the selfie, which showed the happiness that sunshine really can create. To make the quote and message it carried more powerful, I used a darker background. This background made the quote stick out, and it draws people in to the photograph.
